Reach for the Stars Gala
On Friday, October 28th, over 300 friends and supporters gathered together in the Heinz Field East Club Lounge for yet another memorable black tie affair. Some of our most special guests included DePaul School young alum, Jenna Cunningham and Madison Miller, as well as Elena LaQuatra, former Miss Pennsylvania Teen USA, who graciously hosted the evening’s VIP Reception.
Highlights of the night included music by Revision, tapas style dinner stations, a candy buffet from Candy Divas, a fantastic dinner program hosted by WTAE’s John Meyer, and an exciting array of live and silent auction items. In addition, William A. Burgunder, Jr. (Class of ’65) was awarded with the 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award for his commitment to DePaul School and to helping people overcome their challenges. We congratulate Bill on this fantastic achievement!
However, the most memorable piece of the evening was the recognition of the late Daniel A. Goetz who dedicated 35 years to serving DePaul on its Board of Trustees. Art Rooney, Jr. took to the podium to honor his dear friend and to announce the establishment of DePaul’s new service award name his honor. DePaul is proud to offer this award in Mr. Goetz’s memory to show appreciation for his passion to the DePaul community.
