Academics: Kindergarten

The focus of the Kindergarten program is to engage the whole child in a learning environment that fosters academic readiness skills and provide a foundation for future learning.

  • Each child receives Instruction based on individual education program goals.
  • Children receive individual speech therapy four to five days a week.
  • Children are immersed in a language and print rich environment.
  • Theme Units are used to develop vocabulary and natural language experiences.
  • All themes reflect the developmental interests of the children and help to stimulate interest across the curriculum.
  • Parents are encouraged to be an active partner in their child's education through conferences, observations, monthly education seminars and parent support group meetings.
  • Communication notebooks and speech books are sent home daily so that speech, language, and vocabulary development can be reinforced in the natural home environment.
