Academics: Preschool

Children between the ages of 3 and 5 may attend a full-day program five days a week.

The focus on the preschool curriculum is accelerating the development of auditory, speech and language skills. Early academics, fine motor, gross motor and personal/social skills are also developed.

Each child receives:

  • Instruction based on individual education program goals and objectives
  • Direct language and auditory instruction in groups of 2 to 3 children
  • Individual speech therapy four or five times a week
  • Circle time activities and center based play for the development of natural language and pragmatics
  • Music, developmental play and special theme based learning activities
  • Recreation, lunch and nap time

Parents are encouraged to be actively involved in their child's program by:

  • Monthly parent teacher conferences
  • Communication notebooks and speech books sent home daily
  • Weekly language targets and theme concepts to reinforce at home
  • Invitations to attend special holiday events and activities with their child
  • Monthly education seminars and parent support group meetings
